Quotes and invoices that look the part

Send a quote your client can accept from a link, turn it into a project and an invoice, and let Orbit email payment reminders — on iPhone, iPad and the web.

The essentials

Everything you need to bill a client

Quotes and invoices are linked to your clients and projects, so the paperwork follows the work instead of living in a separate tool.

  • Line items, tax and currency

Add line items with a quantity and rate, a tax label and rate, notes and terms, in the currency you bill in.

  • Bill your tracked time

Import unbilled, billable time entries into an invoice as hours at your rate, and Orbit marks them as billed.

  • Recurring invoices

Bill retainers weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly. Orbit creates each invoice as a draft for you to check and send.

  • Payment reminders

Orbit can email your client about an unpaid invoice — by default 3 days before it's due, on the day, and 3 and 7 days after.

  • Free plan

    Four free layouts

Choose Classic, Modern, Minimal or Bold, then set the font, logo position, paper size, columns and footer.

  • A link for your client

Clients open a quote or invoice from a secure link, download the PDF and accept or decline a quote — no account needed.

How it works

From first quote to paid invoice

Invoices

Invoices that keep track of what's owed

Move an invoice from Draft to Sent to Paid. A sent invoice past its due date shows as overdue, and your invoice list totals what's still outstanding.

  • Share the invoice's link or export a PDF
  • Turn on reminders and Orbit emails your client for you
  • Paid invoices count as income in your reports

Quotes

Quotes your client can accept online

Send a quote from its link. Your client reads it, accepts or declines with an optional note, and Orbit notifies you as soon as they answer.

  • Draft, Sent, Accepted, Declined and Expired at a glance
  • A sent quote past its valid-until date shows as expired
  • Turn an accepted quote into a project, then a draft invoice

Make every document yours

Pick a layout and style it once in your settings — new quotes and invoices follow it, and you can still restyle a single document.

  • Classic, Modern, Minimal and Bold, all free
  • Your logo, accent colour, font, Letter or A4 paper and a custom footer
  • Rename the title and columns, like ESTIMATE or TAX INVOICE

Get started

From quote to invoice in three steps

  1. Send the quote

Add your line items and share the quote's link with your client.

  2. Win the work

When they accept, turn the quote into a project and track the work in Orbit.

  3. Invoice and follow up

Create the invoice from the accepted quote or your tracked time, send it, and let reminders follow up.

Remove the Orbit watermark

On the Free plan, the PDFs of your quotes, invoices and reports carry a small "Powered by Orbit" line. Orbit Pro removes it, and adds contracts with e-signature for the work you win.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. The Free plan includes quotes, invoices, recurring invoices, payment reminders and all four document layouts. PDFs exported on Free carry a small "Powered by Orbit" watermark, which Orbit Pro removes.

No. Each quote and invoice you send has its own secure link. Your client opens it in a browser to read it and download the PDF, and can accept or decline a quote right there.

Orbit doesn't process payments. Your client views and downloads the invoice from its link, and you mark it Paid when the money arrives. Until then, payment reminders can follow up by email.

Yes. Import your unbilled, billable time entries into an invoice: Orbit groups them into lines of hours at your rate and marks the entries as billed.

Orbit runs on iPhone and iPad, and on the web through the Orbit dashboard, with your quotes and invoices synced between them. An Android app is coming soon.
