The essentials

A proper home for each client

A client in Orbit is more than a name on a task: it's where their contacts, rates, projects and paperwork come together.

  • Contact details

Name, company, email, phone, website and a billing address that appears on your invoices.

  • Rate and currency

Set an hourly or fixed rate in the client's own currency. Tracked time is valued at the client's hourly rate.

  • Projects and open work

See the client's projects with their progress, plus counts of open and completed tasks.

  • Quotes, invoices and expenses

Open the client's invoices in one tap, and see their quotes and expenses on the client's page.

  • Statuses and sorting

Mark clients Active, Paused, Completed or Archived, filter by status, and sort by name, last update or date added.

  • Files and notes

Attach files to a client and keep notes on their preferences, so the context is there when you need it.

How it looks

Everything about a client, one tap away

On iPhone and iPad

A client page that sums them up

Each client's page opens with their status and quick actions, then counts of projects, open tasks and completed tasks, followed by contact and billing details.

  • Email and Invoice actions right under the name
  • Their projects, quotes, expenses and files below
  • Star your key clients to keep them at the top

On the web

Unbilled time, ready to invoice

On the web, a client's page shows their billable time that hasn't been invoiced yet, with a shortcut that starts an invoice for them and brings that time in.

  • Unbilled hours and their estimated value
  • Every task for the client on the same page
  • Home shows your unbilled time across all clients

Yes. Each client has their own currency and an hourly or fixed rate. Orbit never converts between currencies, so amounts stay in the currency you set for that client.

Archived clients are hidden from your workspace but not deleted, and you can restore them at any time.

No. Clients are records in your workspace, not users. When you share a project's status link, your client can open it without an account.
